And it seems to me that who other people are is always mysterious. What I realized […] is that who I am is fully mysterious to me. And so, since I don’t fully know it and since I can’t fully comprehend it — it’s not simply that I don’t; it’s that I can’t — then there has to be some mystical element in it, and some element that’s obviously present, and yet beyond my comprehension.
